도시전설 짧은이야기

옛날옛날 한옛날에 다섯아이가 우주멀리 아주멀리 사라졌다가 돌아왔다

그곳은 어딘가



주위를 둘러보았다. 이곳에는 오직 높은 건물들이 가득찬 도시이다.

우리가 어디로 왔을까. 우주멀리서 잘지내다가 잘자다 눈떠보니 이곳이다.


사람은 보이질 않는다. 그런데 사람소리는 들린다.

이상하다


건물안에서 나는 소리인가. 사람들은 다들 안에서 뭔가를 하고있나보다

우리들은 궁금한 마음에 돌아다녔다,

제각각인듯 하지만 비슷한 형태의 건물들, 비슷한 색과 재질의 건물들, 돌같기도하고

수많은 사람들이 큰건물의 작은 네모난틀에서 얼굴이 보인다.

갑갑하겠군.

우리는 이곳을 회색도시라고 부르기로 했다. 건물들에는 회색의 돌이 많았다.

사람들은 저런곳에서 어떻게 살까.


무작정 들어가보기로 한다. 나름....안은 넓다. 크다. 그런데 모자쓴 아저씨가 나가란다.

이건뭐. 무서워서 살겠나



그곳을 나와 우리는 멀리 걸어나왔다. 멀리 멀리

건물중에 하나 빈곳이 보인다. 모자쓴 아저씨 없다.

약간 날씬한 문으로 들어갔다.

사람이 없는듯.. 좋군.. 이제부터 우리가 살집이다.


우리 다섯이들은 각자 밖에 나가서 이곳을 더둘러보기로한다. 살아갈 방도를 찾기위해

길거리에 먹을 것은 없다. 자동차와 건물이 있을뿐, 간간히 보이는 나무는 이것마저 쇠로 되어있다.

뭐지 이곳은...


우리는 각자 일자리를 찾았다. 이곳은 돈이라는 것이 없으면 뭘할수가 없다.


나이가 많아보이는 남자1호 특기가 사진을 잘찍는다. 이곳도 사진을 찍는 곳이 있기에 사진관 취직하려 한다.

우리는 사진을 필름을 쓰는데 이곳은 아닌거 같다. 그냥 찍는다 근데 사진이 출력이된다. 신기하네


두번째로 여자2호이다. 특기가 빨리 배운다. 그래서 이곳 아이들책을 본후

금방 외우고 애들을 가르치고 하고 알려준다.

세번째는 여자3호 특기가 돈계산이다. 은행에 취직했다. 계산이 빠르다. 슝슝

네번째는 남자4호 특기가 요리인듯 먹을것은 뭘만들든 잘만든다. 그래서 식당에 들어갔다. 특이요리를 만든다.

다섯번째 여자5호 특기가 정리다. 모든것을 정리한다. 그정리하는 것으로 옷파는 큰가게에 들어갔다
옷도정리하고 신발도 정리하고 다정리한다. 깔끔하다.


이렇게 차분히 이세상에 적응해 간다.


다섯명이서 버는 돈이 생각보다 많은데 생각보다 많이 쓴다. 그래서 돈을 남겨두지 못한다.

근근히 살아가고 있는 도중에.....



멀리서 아주멀리서 이방인들이 왔다. 떼거지로

이곳을 자기땅으로 만든다고 한다. 뭘자꾸 쏜다. 그쏘는 것에 맞아서 여기있던 건물이 뚝뚝 부셔져 나간다,

우리 5호들은 먹고살기위해 이곳을 지키기로한다. 기껏 근근히 먹고사는데 또 굶을순 없다.


이방인들에게 고향에서 배운 기술을 써먹으며 이곳을 지키고자 했다.

또한 5호들과 같은 생각을 가진 이곳 사람들과 같이 싸웠다.

그러나 그쏴대는 것으로 부숴지는것을 막을 수는 없었다.

 수많은 희생을 치뤄가며 싸운끝에 우리는 이방인들을 몰아냈다. 이방인들은 이곳의 환경에 적응을 못하고

저절로 없어지기 시작했다.

그러나 가장큰 싸움이었던 "요리전투"에서 공중에서 쏘아대는 것을 막고 다른 5호들과 사람들을 구하기위해

홀로 이방인 기지로 들어간 남자4호가 돌아 오지 않았다.이방인기지가 없어졌는데도 말이다.

이곳 사람들은 남자4호가 얼굴이 잘 빨개진다고해서 붉은 영웅이라며, 영웅이라고 칭했다. 그리고 이곳에는

붉은얼굴 돌상이 세워졌다.

그사람들과 5호들은 승리했다.


파괴된 이곳을 재건하기위해 남은사람들이 다시 이곳을 수리하기 시작했다. 너무 높은 건물들은 다시 짓지 않고

적당한 높이로 살만한 집들을 만들기시작했다. 예전같이 여러사람이 살기위해 여러층 되는 건물들을 지어

이곳에 모여서 혹시나 있을 저번과 같은 이방인의 침입에 대비했다. 그 건물들을 우리는 "빌라" 라고 칭하며

예전과 비슷한 환경을 만들기 시작했다. 그리고 부서진 건물사이로 푸른색의 무엇이 올라온다.

이곳에 와서 처음보는 것들이다. 살아있는것 같기도 하고, 5호들은 신기해 했다.

빌라들은 다시 사람들이 이곳에 살기 시작하면서 많이 생기게 되었다.

우리 5호들은 작은 집에서 나와 빌라에 함께살면서 이곳 사람들에 더 가까워지기 시작했다.

5호들은 자기 특기에 맞는 일을 하면서 사람과 똑같이 지내며 서서히 우주에서 왔다는 사실을 잊고 잘적응하고 살아가고 있었다.

그들의 위기가 지나간 것일까


그로부터 10년뒤....땅이 갈라지면서 반투명한 것들의 괴롭힘이 시작되었다. 그옛날 이방인의 침공때 사라진 사람들이

돌아온 것이다. 반투명한 것들이 하늘의 빛을 가려버려 서서히 어두워졌다.

이상한 소리와 이유를 알수없는 괴롭힘, 그런 것들로 서서히 사람들을 쫓아내고 그들이 살기 시작한다.

반투명의 사람들... 소리도 없다. 잘보이지도 않는다.

뭘먹고 사는 지는 모르겠다. 먹는 것을 본 적이 없다.

땅이 갈라지면서 그 땅의 떨림으로 높은 건물들이 하나둘씩 쓰러져가고, 그나마 낮게 지은 것들만 남겨진다.

남은 건물들에는 사람들은 없고 전부 반투명한 것들과 그주위로 푸른색의 말못하는 것들이 자라난다.

5호들은 반투명한 것들을 막아내기위해 고민한다. 그들의 원래 고향에서도 이런 반투명한 것들이 있었다. 이것들을 막을수 있는 방법은

이곳 "최초의 빛"을 찾아내는 것 그들은 4호가 죽음으로 이곳을 지켜냈던 것처럼 이곳을 지켜내기로 한다.

계산이 빠른 3호가 빛이 있을 만한 곳들을 계산한다. 그리고 정리잘하는 5호는 계산한 것들을 모아서 지점을 정리해서 보내준다. 1호는 빛을 찾기위해

2호와 함께 다니며 사진을 찍으며 빛을 찾는다. 2호역시 사진을 금방배워 1호와 함께 빛을 찾기 시작했다.

1호와 2호는 폐허가 되고있는 이곳을 돌아다니며 불투명한 것들의 시선을 피해가며 찾는다. 이곳에서 의지할것은 오직 자신들 5호들 뿐이다.

수십일을 잘먹지도 못하고, 하루종일 어두운 곳에서 반투명 것들을 피해가며, 사람이 아닌 동물들과 싸워서 잡아먹으며 최초의 빛을 찾으러 다녔다.

그러던중 3호가 반투명한 것들에 납치되버렸다. 1,2,5호는 3호를 죽을 힘을 다해 구출하며 마지막 혼신의 힘을 다하고 기력이 빠져버렸다.

그리고 그들의 마지막을 함께하기위해 4호의 돌상으로 갔다.


빛을 찾지못하고 결국 이렇게 죽고 마는가 우리의 5호들.......


4호의 돌상에 가까이 가는 데....돌상근처에서 희미한 빛이 보였다. 그 돌상에서 새어나오는 빛이 었다. 그들은 자신도 모르게 4호돌상을깨버린다.

그돌상안에는 자체발광 빛나는 돌이 있었다. 낮이라 사람들이 아무도 몰랐지만 밤만 지속되자 빛이 보였던 것이다.

결국 4호돌상안에 있던 최초의 빛을 반투명의 것들에게 들이대자 그들은 소멸되었다. 결국 이돌을 이용해 새어나온 빛을 증폭해서 하늘 로 쏘아버리자

하늘의 빛이 돌아왔고 반투명한 것들이 소멸되었다.


빛이 돌아오자 어딘가에 숨어있던 사람들이 밖으로 나왔다

그리고 또다시 파괴된 이곳을 다시 세우기 시작했다.

두번이나 이곳을 구한 붉은영웅 돌상을 다시만들고

다시 건물을 짓기 시작했다.

그런데이곳이 사람이 없고 황폐해진 것을 알자 다른 나라 사람들이 왔다.

그러더니 이곳을 그옛날 처음 우리가 왔던 것처럼 높은 건물을 세우기 시작하며 그 다른나라 사람들이 들어왔다. 이건또 무슨일?

그 다른나라의 사람들이 너무 많아서 이곳을 자신들이 쓰겠다고 한다.

원래 이곳에 있던 사람들과 5호들은 높은 건물이 세워지지 않은 곳으로가서 높은 건물들보다 안전하고, 땅에서 올라오는 푸른색의 것들을 키울수 있는 곳을 찾았다.

붉은 영웅돌상이 있던 곳을 주위로 저번의 습격으로 부서진 건물들의 잔해로 집들을 지었다. 빌라나 높은 빌딩보단 못하지만 이곳은 어떤 일이 있어도 지켜낼수 있는 집이다.

역시 겪어본 사람만이 아는 것이다.

이곳에서 5호들은 이곳사람들이 추대해 큰이장이 되었다. 푸른 것들을 이름을 지어주며, 옛날에 있었다는 "나무, 풀, 꽃"이라고 이름짓고 이것들을 기르면서 살아있는 것들과

소통하고 이곳 사람들끼리도 서로 친근한 마을이 되자.


높은빌딩에 사는 다른나라사람들 마저도 혼자사는 것을 견디지 못해 하나둘씩 이주해 왔다.

큰이장인 5호들은 이들을 거부하지 않고 그들이 그랬던 것처럼 여기에 잘적응하게 도와주었고, 다른 나라사람들이 더욱더 이주해 왔다. 결국 이마을은 큰도시가 되고 발전해서

세계에서도 살기좋은 도시로 알려졌다.

이곳의 큰이장인 5호들은 이곳에서 행복하게 살다가 여생을 마무리했다. 그리고 그들역시 이마을 곳곳에 돌상과 동상으로 남으며 영웅으로 추앙받았다.

Legend of City

Once upon a time, five children came back from far away universe.

They tried to find out where they are. But there is only full of high-rises.

They were hanging with their friend, but when they opened eyes, they were there.

They couldn’t find anybody, but sounds.

They thought it might be from the buildings, so they looked around.

It looks different, but almost same looking buildings, same color, materials, and somewhat looks

like just a stone. And they found human’s face through small square framed window. That looks

really stuffy.

They started to call this city as grey city because there were lots of grey stones.

 They thought how people live in that like of space.

 So they decided to enter there thoughtlessly.

Inside space is kind of big, but a guy with hat had us leave. It was terrible. 

They went out and walked far and far.

They found a vacant house, and no hat guy.

They entered little thin door.

They figured out there’s nobody, so they decided to live there.

They started to go out and look around more to find a way to live.

But there was no food. Just cars and buildings are there. Even some woods were made of metal.

What the hell..?

They found a job. With no money, there was nothing that they can do.

A guy – “First” who looks old is good at photo.

There were also place for photo, so he tried to get a job there.

But that shop doesn’t use a film which he used to use.

It was amazing they print a photo without film.

A girl –“Second” is good at learning something quickly.

So she learned lots of books here for children and memorized everything, then she teach children.

A girl – “Third” is good at calculating. She got a job at bank.

A guy – “Fourth” is good at cook, so he got a job at restaurant.

A guy – “Fifth” is good at arrangement, so he got a job at big cloth store.

In this way, they are getting used to live here.

One day, aliens come a long way to here and they said they are going to own this area.

They shot something at building, so building is getting destroyed.

They five members decided to protect here for living, now They keep food on the table so they don’t want to lose here.

Some people fought against the aliens with us.

But we couldn’t stop them breaking buildings.

After lots of sacrifices, we won and removed aliens.

But during a big fight called “Cooking war”, they lost the guy –“Fourth” who attacked alien’s base to save other guys and people.

And people set up a monument of the guy – “Fourth”, called “Red hero”, because he blushed a lot of times.

People are gathering here and fix, repair everything to recover.

They decided not to build high-rises, only mid-rises.

They built buildings which have several floors to live many people together for protecting ourselves from the invasion that he experienced.

They called that a “Villa”, and made almost same surroundings like previous one.

And then, they found something blue new between buildings.

It was new thing, and they have never seen that before.

As lots of people started to live in Villa, there were lots of Villa built up.

When they-“Five members” moved to Villa, they closed to neighbor.

They do some jobs connected to their character and skills, and they are getting forgotten the fact they were from universe.

But after 10years, something translucent started to harass them. That was the alien who from the war.

As the translucent thing shade the sun, it’s getting darker.

There were weird sounds and unknown harassment. In that way, the translucent thing threw people out and lives there.

It’s like translucent people, soundless, and cannot see clearly.

Don’t know what they eat. Never see they eat something.

As the ground cracked in the earthquake, high-rises disappeared, and only low-rises left.

There no people in the buildings, just translucent things and something blue.

The “Five” tried to find a way to remove the translucent thing.

There were also those kinds of things in their hometown.

They realized the way to protect here is finding “The First Light”

The Third who is good at calculating calculates everywhere the light might be.

And the Fifth who is good at arrangement arranges those things.

And the First and Second are looking for the light with taking a photo.

Because the Second already learned how to take a photo quickly.

The first and second are looking for the light with caring the eye of their enemies.

They had been looking for the light for a long days without eating properly.

But someday, the third got caught by the translucent things.

The other members tried their best effort to rescue the third, but it didn’t’ work out.

At the last time, they just get to the monument of the forth to see him.

When they approached the monument, they found a deem light in the monument.

So they broke the monument and finally found the first light.

So they used the first light to remove all the translucent things, and they were lastly gone.

And as they shot the light to the sky, all the lights came back and people started to appear from hidden place.

They rebuilt all things – houses, buildings and even monument of “Red Hero”.

But suddenly the other people came to here and built high-rises as the five had done before.

And they said their country is already full, so they wanted to live here.

The Five and the people who lived here found a place which is not that high, but much safer than high-rises, and they could grow something blue there.

They build their houses with wreckage from the war, and it is really safe and firm and hard enough to protect them.

And the five became head of village.

They named the blue things as tree, grass, flower and grew them.

And the people who live in high-rises couldn’t bear to live there alone anymore, so they move in.

The five, leader of village helped them to get used to live here, so lots of people from other country moved into here.

Finally, this village became a big city and popular as an attractive village.

The five lived a happy life for the rest of their days, and after death, they also left in the village as a monument of hero.
